Barbara J. Tapee - July 24, 2012
1933-2012Barbara J. Tapee, 79 years of age, of Beatrice passed away at her home Tuesday morning, July 24, 2012. She was born on February 5, 1933 to Ralph and Martha (Walney) Crosby and lived in Beatrice her entire life. Barbara was a 1951 graduate of St. Joseph’s Catholic High School. She and Robert “Bob” Tapee were married on October 27, 1951 in Denver, Colorado. Barbara had been employed at the Beatrice State Development Center for 27 years retiring in 1998. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beatrice and had been a member of the Altar Society. Barbara enjoyed reading, flowers, quilting, and spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Robert; four sons, Matthew Tapee and special friend Karen of Beatrice, Steven Tapee and wife Annaleiese of Jefferson City, Missouri, David Tapee, and Patrick Tapee and wife Shell, all of Beatrice; six daughters, Cindy Evers and husband Dale, Bobbi Jo Hudson, Karen Rehm and special friend D, Becky Tapee and special friend Jerry, all of Beatrice, Sara Keuten and husband Randy of Diller, and Patricia Moody and husband Mark of Auburn; 25 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter; brother Patrick Crosby and wife Betty of York, Neb.; and sister in law Ruby Crosby of Beatrice; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Martha (Walney) Crosby; daughter Chris Koespel; two brothers Gerald and Robert Crosby; and sister Marilyn Roberts.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 27, 2012 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beatrice with Father Steve Major officiating. Inurnment will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. There will be no viewing as cremation has take place, but a register book will be available for signatures Thursday from 12-9:oo P.M. A scriptural prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beatrice.
