Nemaha County Gives Back Collects More Than $15,000 to Assist Area Families During Holidays

Families from Auburn as well as regionally came to Nemaha County Hospital Friday, Dec. 2, to help their neighbors in need.

The hospital was the location of Nemaha County Gives Back for the third consecutive year. Funds raised surpassed $15,000. Everything raised will go back to the community to assist families with food and gift expenses. Most proceeds will be directed to Southeast Nebraska Community Action, which determines who qualifies. Other funds will go to Southeast Nebraska Developmental Services.

“The day went great. A lot more families were here. There were a lot of giving people. They seemed to enjoy their time out here. Children enjoyed the crafts. Santa Claus and his elf were a big hit. We are proud to be part of our community,” said Heather Rowell. Rowell is the hospital’s executive assistant.
