Beverly J. Harms, 68, of Sterling died Saturday morning, August 9, 2025 at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center. She was born on March 29, 1957 in Tecumseh to Adam and Erma (Schmit) Hindera. Bev graduated from Sterling High School. She married Richard Harms and they were blessed with one son, Jason. Later they divorced. Over the years she had been a cook at Scott’s Place, was a cashier at the Jet Stop both in Sterling, worked at Wheelers in Tecumseh, and at Adams Super Foods. She was an Elvis fan and enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, babysitting for family, taking drives in the country, and having pet dogs.
Survivors include her son, Jason Harms of Sterling; brother, Dennis (Lois Jean) Hindera of Sterling; sisters, Gloria (Mike) Pethoud of Adams and Linda “Poncho” Tuxhorn of Sterling; several nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Inurnment of the cremains will be at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, August 29, 2025 at the Sterling Cemetery of Sterling with Chaplain Sharon Schuster officiating. Cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the family for future designation. www.foxfuneralhome.
