DALE P. MICHEL 1951-2016

Dale Paul Michel, 65 years of age, of Johnson, passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at the Waverly Care Center in Waverly. He was born on July 27, 1951 in Omaha. Dale graduated from Johnson-Brock High School in 1969. He married Charlene Baldwin onDecember 4, 1971 and to this union,  three children were born, Christine, Matt and Stacey. Dale later married Carlene Neeman and to this union, Derek joined the family. He worked many years alongside his father on the family farm before owning and operating Michel Painting for over 40 years. Dale was very proud of the fact that he painted so many structures in the area over all those years. Later in life, Dale purchased and ran ‘Ole Dad’s’ Bar and Grill in Tecumseh for several years. He was an avid pool player and played in many different leagues. Dale attended both Zion and St. Matthew’s Lutheran Churches. He participated in and coached many different sports teams. Dale enjoyed shooting pool, golfing, softball andespecially watching his children’s  and grandchildren’s school and athletic activities. Dale is survived by four children, Christine Fritz and special friend Jeff Sherman of Omaha, Matt Michel and wife Nicki of Eagle, Stacey Washington and husband Lamar of Kansas City, Missouri, Derek Michel and fiancée Liz Kraus of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Deja Washington, Ayannah Washington, Landyn Michel, Lilly Michel, Laynee Michel, Tanner Michel; and a sister, Sandra Baker and husband Jim of Norfolk. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Genevieve (Gerdes) Michel. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 24,2016 at Zion Lutheran Church near Johnson with Pastor Bill Shaner officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. There will be no visitation but the family will greet friends one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the funeral home.
