SARAH A. REEVES

1919-2016
Sarah Ann (Brennan) Reeves, 97, was born on July 10, 1919 to James and Florence (Meyers) Brennan in Douglas, Nebraska. She attended country school through the 8th grade near Adams, Nebraska and then attended Peru High School. While living in Peru, Sarah worked as a seamstress doing various sewing jobs for people. She was united in marriage to Silas Edward Reeves in Falls City, Nebraska. To this union two daughters, Darlene and Cathy, were born. The couple raised their family on a farm east of Peru where Sarah worked as a seamstress for the Army. She then worked at Swanson’s which later became the Campbell’s Soup Company in Tecumseh, Danny Dare in Syracuse, then retiring from Danny Dare in Auburn. Retirement didn’t fit real well with Sarah, so at age 80 she started working at the Senior Center in Auburn for 9 years. She then became a resident of the Long’s Creek Assisted Living Facility and later at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Auburn. Sarah was a very hard working and loving person that carried many different jobs throughout her life. She was a devoted mother and farm wife that always put her family needs before her own. Sarah was a member of the Christian Church in Auburn, Charter Oak Christian Church in Talmage, and Auburn Eagles Club Aerie #3767. Sarah passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Auburn, Nebraska having reached the age of 97 years, two months, and 27 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Silas, daughter Darlene (Jerald) Robinson, infant son John, and her 13 siblings. Sarah is survived by her daughter Cathy Coulter and her husband Dean of Auburn; grandchildren: Christy (Kevin) Tanner of Auburn; Vicki (Mike) Langner of San Jose, Calif.; Jody Uglow of Savannah, Georgia; Steve Robinson of rural Tecumseh, Neb.; John Robinson of Sterling, Neb.; David Robinson of Tecumseh, Neb.; Patricia (Mike) Potter of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Traci (James) Reyes of Lincoln, Neb.; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016, at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn, with Pastor Tom Osborne officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn. Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Sheridan Cemetery near Auburn. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Auburn Eagles Aerie #3767 or Auburn Rescue Squad.
