Marilyn Woerth Named DAR Nebraska Outstanding Chapter Regent

Marilyn Woerth of Brownville was presented the Nebraska Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Outstanding Chapter Regent at the recent state conference in Kearney.

She is regent of the Otoe Chapter, based in Nebraska City. Each state awards a certificate and pin to a deserving Chapter Regent. Each regent is nominated by a process that keeps their name and chapter an unknown and who or whom recommended them. The suggestions are then sent to a multiple state panel that chooses the honoree. Woerth was told she was nominated by multiple individuals.

Also representing the Otoe Chapter was Nancy Wheeler, chapter chaplain and registrar. During the business meeting Woerth reported on the chapter’s 2023 activities. As state National Defense Committee Chairman she also reported on chapters who
