Auburn High School Wrestling hosted the home invitational Saturday, December 21. The nine boys teams and five girls teams in attendance competed starting at 9:30am across two mats in the Auburn High School Gym.

Of the eleven boys competing for the Bulldogs, senior Dwayne Taylor and sophomore Drayven Lamb earned a silver medals. Taylor won his way to the finals with three pins, all within the first period, before being pinned by Dalton VanLaningham from Fairbury. Lamb pinned his way to the first place match as well, and was then pinned by Marcus Wynne from Lincoln North Star in the finals. Ayden Smith and Crew Gulizia found success in their first matches of the day, but couldn’t keep the momentum to earn medals of their own. Logan Rowell also won his first match, but ended up medical-forfeiting his next two. Auburn senior and 2023-24 State medalist Owen Rowell was unable to compete at the invitational.
