THIS RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY at 2523 Kuhlman Avenue was one two new properties permitted and built during 2024 in the City of Auburn. Total improvements permitted during the year totaled $2,079,677.00. Projects picked back up in November, including a $120,000 commercial remodel with another one costing $45,000. Nine other projects brought the monthly totaled $104,300. October was the least expensive month yet for projects, with $49,400 being to total cost between five projects. The most expensive project was a $24,000 addition, followed by an $18,000 concrete driveway.

City Building Inspector Chris Darnell approved 89 permits in 2024, the projects of which cost a total of $2,079,677. The total cost of the projects is down 83 percent from a significant bump in 2023, but falls in line with the figures from the seven years before that, all of which landed somewhere between 1.6 and 3.2 million dollars. With the exception of the 109 permitted projects in 2023, the 89 projects in 2024 is the most since 2019, in which the same amount of permits were approved.

Two projects, both dated January 10, 2024 totaled $260,000 with new construction costing $60,000 and a commercial remodeling costing $200,000.

In February, two commercial remodels costed $50,000 each with another $10,600 listed as costs for a concrete driveway and fence, totaling $110,600 for the month.
