Local YouTube Channel Earth & Owl Achieves 100k Subscribers
Nikki Hayes, owner of and content creator for Earth & Owl, has achieved a huge YouTube milestone in recent weeks. While she’d been watching her subscriber count climb since beginning the channel, Hayes was informed just before Christmas that she had hit the mark of 100,000 subscribers, earning herself the ‘Silver Play Button’ award from YouTube.
Hayes’ content includes yoga and ‘rebounding,’ a type of aerobic workout done on a miniature trampoline, or rebounder. Before starting her YouTube channel, Hayes hosted yoga and rebounding sessions in-person at Earth & Owl’s physical location on Courthouse Square in Auburn. “There was once a long wait list for people to get into my rebounding sessions,” Hayes said, “but the pandemic forced the closure of my in-person business.” Having almost no experience with YouTube and other Internet content creation, Hayes took a short course at Peru State College on Adobe Premiere and then began her journey into the world of YouTube.
