With the resignation of long time Councilwoman Katy Billings, due to her moving out of Auburn’s Ward 2, Mayor Chris Erickson selected Brian Lavigne to fill the vacancy on the city council.
Mayor Erickson said that he received four submissions for the position and selected Lavigne, a lifelong Auburn resident, who was a leader on the Auburn City Recreation Board alongside Erickson for many years. The council voted unanimously in favor of Erickson’s selection.
After Billings was awarded a plaque by Erickson for her 14 years of service to the city of Auburn, Lavigne was sworn in by Sherry Heskett and took his seat on the council for the remainder of the Monday, January 13 Auburn City Council Meeting.
