Auburn, Neb. – Students from the Au b u rn Pu b l i c Schools FFA chapter are featured in an award-winning docuseries, People Worth Caring About. The docuseries features seven nursing homes and assisted living communities, including Good Samaritan Society-Auburn. In episode three of the seven-part series, Maria Hudson, Good Samaritan-Auburn Resident Services Coordinator, leads volunteers from the local FFA chapter as they help residents plant succulents and flowers.

“If it wasn’t for the support of student groups like FFA, I don’t think I’d be able to do my job,” Hudson said. “Working with elderly people brings something out of you: a passion.”

Produced by Nebraska Health Care Association in partnership with Strategic Pete and Golden Gen Movement, the docuseries aims to address workforce challenges in long-term care, particularly those in rural areas, while emphasizing the deep, daily connections between caregivers and residents. The project was made possible by Nebraska Health Care Foundation.
