On Tuesday, March 11, Brownville Village Board of Trustees met for their regular monthly meeting. As well as many items of new business, the Village Board discussed the purchase talks concerning the Riverfront Property between Brownville Development and the Village.
Following the consent agenda, the board members gave their various reports. One noteworthy report was given by Board Member Paul Fish, who oversees the village’s water and wastewater. He began by noting the income vs. expenses recorded for prior years and, when last checked, the Village’s water and wastewater account totaled around $5,200. Fish emphasized that the amount of money would be able to fix one leak and one broken line. He then explained that the board is going to ask for the rural water association to perform a rate assessment so that the Village can decide whether or not they need to raise the rates for water.
Following the reports, Chairwoman Kim Johnson announced that the Design Review Board appointed during the previous month’s meeting has been dissolved. Following the studying of the ordinances and involvement surrounding the board, the members decided to not pursue the stations.
