About 54 Auburn Public Schools students attended the District History Day Contest at Peru State College Wednesday, March 26.
Alexandra Graf, Auburn social studies teacher, related the students had spent time during the second semester preparing for the event. She continued Auburn had a number of students place in the Top 4 and are eligible to advance to the state contest. Graf noted they are not required to attend state, but of those who qualified there are some choosing to go and will be attending the state contest Saturday, April 12 at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln.
Auburn results from the district contest are as follows with their respective topics: Documentary: Payton Reid, first place. An Era of Fire Fueled by Alcohol: Prohibition in Nebraska.
