Jack Hayes Sixth In Class B Informative at State Speech

Wednesday, March 26, Auburn junior Jack Hayes earned a sixth place medal in informative speaking at the Class B state speech meet. The state event was at Kearney High School.

Hayes’ topic was Bees. Also representing Auburn at state were: Hunter Stevenson in persuasive with Book Banning; Addison Fankhauser in program oral interpretation with Her Contributions, Her Legacy; Solomon Jacobitz and Nora Jacobitz in duet acting with Sunflower Street; and two oral interpretation of drama entries. One was Fankhauser, Kyle Jones, Beau Thomas and Kinsley Gerdes in Bad Auditions by Bad Actors; and Solomon Jacobitz, Stevenson, Alexa Janssen, Hayes and Gillian Hanna in Where the Sky Meets the Sea. All state participants return in 2026.

Auburn’s duets of Solomon and Nora Jacobitz; and Cuyler Aue and Gatlin Gerking have qualified to the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions Friday through Sunday, May 16 through 18 at Kansas City, Mo. Aue’s and Gerking’s topic is The Bible: Abridged.
