‘Egg-celent’ Turnout at Legion Post 23 Annual Easter Egg Hunt

‘Egg-celent’ Turnout at Legion Post 23 Annual Easter Egg Hunt

AUBURN’S AMERICAN LEGION POST 23 hosted an Easter egg hunt for children 10 years and younger on Saturday, April 19 at the Legion Memorial Park. With around one thousand plastic eggs to find, and even more pieces of candy scattered around the park, there were plenty of goodies to go around for the plentiful hunters who came to the event. The children who participated were divided into age groups of 0-2 years, 2-4, 4-6 and 6-10 years. The eggs and candy were evenly distributed across the various hunting sites and, though it all took quite a while to set up, the hunt was over in less than half an hour.

THE EASTER BUNNY made an appearance to the park as well, taking pictures with kids in the gazebo and hopping around to everyone’s delight. A number of prizes donated by various businesses around Auburn were given out for egg hunters who found specially marked eggs, and gift bags were given out to those who showed up to the hunt a little later. Organizers noted that the event seemed to go smoother than last year, and plans for further decorations are being made for next year’s hunt. Pictured to the right with the Easter Bunny are Korra and Aliyiah Groves. The bunny took countless photos with even more children, and expects to return for next year’s Legion Easter Egg Hunt.
