Auburn senior Maverick Binder has been selected alongside some of the premier football players in Nebraska to play in the 66th Nebraska Shrine Bowl. Binder will be a member of the South Team during the bowl game on Saturday, June 1 at the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
The Shrine Bowl of Nebraska is the state’s premier high school all-star sports event. It is a non-profit that produces annual events and related activities to raise funds and awareness to benefit Shriners Children’s. Since its inception in 1958, the Nebraska Shrine Bowl has annually donated more than $2 million to Shriners Children’s.
Binder’s Shrine Bowl team will be coached by Lincoln Southeast’s Ryan Gottula. The Hastings College basketball commit totaled 1,129 rushing yards on 163 carries in his senior season, including 26 total touchdowns for the 8-3 Bulldogs.
