Nebraska feedlots, having capacities of 1,000 or more head, contained 2.56 million cattle on feed Friday, March 1.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service reported the inventory was up 1 percent from last year.
Placements during February totaled 505,000 head, an increase of 16 percent from a year ago.
