Mayor Chris Erickson made an official proclamation to make April 26, 2024 Arbor Day in Auburn at the Auburn City Council’s meeting on Monday, April 8. In his proclamation, Erickson noted that in 1872, the Nebraska Board of Agriculture established Arbor Day specifically for planting trees which was first observed in Nebraska.
Chris Linder from FORVIS spoke to the council at the top of the meeting via zoom video chat regarding the city’s 2023 fiscal year audit.
Included in the Audit report was the filed statement of net position on a cash basis reporting $3,324,168 in total assets. Linder reported that there were no corrections that were needed to be made to the financial report and gave kudos to Sherry Heskett for providing the necessary information in a timely and accurate fashion.
