Troopers Complete U Drive. U Text. U Pay. Campaign

Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) removed 30 impaired drivers from the road during the first week of April. The effort corresponded with a national campaign to begin Distracted Driving Awareness Month.

“Spring means better travel conditions and more traffic starting to hit the road in Nebraska, but safe driving is a year-round effort. With every trip, no matter the distance, put your phone down and keep your focus on the road,” said Col. John Bolduc, NSP superintendent.

The patrol also issued the following citations: 633 speeding, 56 driving under suspension, 28 speeding at 100 MPH or more, nine no seat belt, six improper child restraint and one distracted driving. Troopers performed 315 motorist assists during the eight days.
