The bandshell at Legion Memorial Park will be the site of the Monday, May 27 Memorial Day observance in Auburn. It will be at 10:30 a.m.
Auburn Mayor Chris Erickson and American Legion Post 23 Commander Al Armstrong will be master of ceremonies. Armstrong will deliver the Memorial Day address.
Boy Scouts from Troop 321 will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Roy Whittington, Post 23 chaplain gives the opening prayer and benediction. MGySgt. Peter Wilson, retired from the U.S. Marine Corps will play the violin. Laura Osborne, past president of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 23 will sing. Jennifer Nichols of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 23 will place the wreath. A member of the Auxiliary will read the names of those who have died within the past year. Post 23 Legionnaires will give the three-gun salute. Taps by Post 23 and the Boy Scouts conclude the morning.
