Reva Siegel Approved As New APS Director of Special Education

Monday night, May 13, the Auburn Public Schools (APS) Board of Education approved a contract with Reva Siegel.

Siegel will be the new director of special education. The contract covers 220 days from Thursday, Aug. 1 through Thursday, July 31, 2025. Her annual salary will be $75,000. Siegel has been with APS two years as a special education teacher and Life Skills at Calvert Elementary School. She is succeeding Shane Keeling who is leaving APS after four years to go to Blair Community Schools. Keeling’s 2023-2024 salary was $94,531.86.

Superintendent David Patton recognized Keeling’s efforts the past four years. Siegel has been attending administrative team meetings and the superintendent appreciated the work in the transition between special education directors. Keeling thought Siegel will do a great job.
