First National Bank of Johnson Seniors Start Summer Baseball Season on Winning Pace

As the spring high school baseball season has come to a close, many area ball players are keeping their bats in hand, trading their school jerseys for Post 23 legion baseball uniforms. The First National Bank of Johnson Seniors, featuring players from Auburn and surrounding areas have a full summer on the diamond ahead of them.

Coach Richard Warner is again the head coach of the Seniors after spending the Spring heavily involved with the Bulldog squad. A majority of the players on the Auburn roster will play for the local legion team as will a few additional players.

“We add a lot more depth with kids from Rock Port, Johnson, Falls City,” said Warner, who thinks the new faces will contribute heavily to the team’s success. Auburn’s Landon Casey, who has been hampered by injury in past legion and school ball seasons, will also give the Bulldogs a bump as he is back in action.
