The Auburn Sports Boosters will be hosting a 9-hole golf tournament at the Auburn Country Club on Saturday, July 20th at 9 a.m. The goal of the tournament is to raise funds for facility upgrades at Auburn Public Schools including but not limited to: shot clocks, scoreboards, sound systems, record boards and gym mats.
The Auburn Sports Boosters utilized almost $20,000 last school year to provide equipment, food and other items for the middle and high school athletic teams. In addition, the Sports Boosters is responsible for the advertisement calendar and programs during the school year. Some of the few items Sports Boosters helped purchase last year are: one set of shot clocks, a sideline camera, a charter bus ride for post season play, and much more. Sports Boosters provides each team with money at the beginning of the season to use for meals, snacks, etc. Finally, the Sports Boosters offers $500 scholarships for student athletes that have participated in three NSAA sanctioned sports for all four years of high school.
Along with the golf tournament, the Sports Boosters are currently conducting their annual advertisement and membership drive for the upcoming school year. The Sports Boosters are very thankful for our members, businesses, and individuals that provide continuous support.
