Updates On Various Projects Presented to Auburn BPW

The Auburn Board of Public Works (BPW) was informed on the progress of a number of items Wednesday, June 19 by Ray Luhring, interim general manager.

He noted Subsurface Technology has begun the CO2 well cleaning process. Alan Slater, water and wastewater manager, anticipated the procedure will go well. The cleaning should be completed shortly if the weather is favorable, Luhring continued.

CO2 cleaning uses conventional blasting technology combined with dry ice pellets as the media. These pellets evaporate during the process and produce minimal secondary waste. When the CO2 blast cleaning process is used properly, it is a totally dry process and is environmentally safe and friendly.
