The Post 23 Seniors out of Auburn headed out west to play for the B7 area tournament at Gering. The FNBJ Seniors entered the tournament comprised mostly of Western Nebraska teams as the #5 seed, but have earned a spot in the finals after knocking off #2 Ogallala, #1 Gering, and avenging their only loss of the tournament against Alliance to come up from the consolation bracket.
In the finals, Auburn met #3 Chadron, needing to beat them twice on Tuesday, July 30 to be crowned area champions. A recap of the B7 area tournament final can be read in next week’s edition of the Herald.
