Auburn’s Binder Scores 14 Points in Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star Basketball Game

Before he sets off on a college basketball career at Hastings College, 2024 Auburn graduate Maverick Binder had one final accolade to add to an illustrious high school athletics career, playing in the 55th Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star basketball game on Wednesday, July 24.

Back in June, Binder put on the football pads for the last time, playing in the 66th Shrine Bowl after a tenacious back half to his senior season at the running back position. Just days prior, Binder wrapped up his athletic career at AHS at the state golf meet as a Class C state qualifier. Still, it was Binder’s achievements on the hardwood that stood out, which he hopes to expand upon at Hastings College starting this winter, while studying agribusiness.

The former Bulldog point guard was two times first team All-State in basketball and earned multiple All-Tournament and All-Conference honors. Binder graduated as the school’s all-time assist leader and second in career scoring behind only his brother Cam. The future Bronco started for the Auburn basketball team every game during his four year varsity career, leading his teams to four straight state title games for a total of 100 career wins. As a freshman, Binder led all scorers in the 2021 Class C1 state title game with 14 points, leading to Auburn’s third state title in as many years.
