About 60 Beginner Golfers Attend Ken Teten Kids Golf Clinic at Auburn Country Club

The annual Ken Teten Kids Golf Clinic took place last week from Monday, July 29 through Friday, August 2. The free clinic, funded by the proceeds of the Ken Teten Memorial Tournament, was open to children ages five through those in 8th grade, and lasted two hours each morning. Despite the sweltering July heat, around 60 young golfers showed up to learn everything from golf course ettiqute to chipping, putting and driving. Coaches Grant Cole, Jim Flaherty, Shawn Wehenkel and Danny Hayes helped make sure each of the prospective golfers developed good golfing habits and perfected their form. Though the following Jr. Golf Tournament and the Ken Teten Golf Clinic aren’t technically tied together, many of the young athletes signed up for the competition which took place Saturday, August 3.
