Ken Teten Golf Clinic Kids Show Off What They Learned at Jr. Golf Tournament

Around 60 kids enjoyed the fair weather at Auburn Country Club on Saturday, August 3 as they each drove, chipped and putted through the annual Jr. Golf Tournament. The weekend competition followed the week-long Ken Teten Kids Golf Clinic and many of the clinic’s participants put what they learned to the test during the tournament. Golfers were divided by age groups, and in the case of a particularly large number of competitors, the ages were broken up into smaller groups. After a reading of the rules and ettiquete for the golf course, the different age ranges were spread out across the majority of the course and their games began. The 5-7 year olds played holes

5 through 7 while the 8 and 9 year olds started on 8 and ended on 2. The 10 and 11 age range started on hole 9 and finished on 4, and the 12 and 13 year olds began on hole 1 and played through 7. Those golfers between the ages of 14 and 18 started on hole 2 and played all 9. Starting at 9am, the tournament lasted until around 11am, and first, second and third place was awarded to the boys and girls of each age group.
