The Auburn eDawgs, AHS’s eSports program are booting up for their sophomore year of competition. After establishing the program in its first year last fall, the squad now has their collective eyes set on winning.
“The kids are more prepared, they know what to expect. We, as coaches, know what to expect. We felt we did a pretty good job last year, being new. These kids are competitive. They know what they need to do to improve and thats why a lot of them are up here,” said Head Coach Brian Maher.
As the AHS students enter the 2024-25 school year, eSports participants have been honing their skills inside Room 202 on the second floor of the Auburn Public Schools Central Office. The eSports room is lined with eight gaming personal computers and four Nintendo Switches as well as custom decals on the wall. The players sit in new black and red gaming chairs, which they were able to purchase from working the concession stands throughout last year.
