The Bulldogs appeared to be in mid-season form during their home opener against Mount Michael Benedictine on Friday, August 30.
A cast of Bulldog players, some returning difference makers and some fresh faces, showed off their ability on the gridiron in front of the Auburn crowd at Bulldog, but possibly none stood out as much as senior Nixon Ligouri.
The 6’3 starting quarterback connected on seven of his nine passing attempts for 59 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for another touchdown and 67 yards. Ligouri was not only an issue for the Knights offensively, but he added 50 yards on a pair of kickoff returns as well as making his presence known on defense with six tackles and an interception.
