A delegation addressed the Nemaha County Commissioners Wednesday morning, Aug. 28 about creating zoning in the county. Issues were also forwarded about prospective solar farms in the county.
Susan Piper, who lives in the Coryell Park area near Brock, noted about 70 persons in the area are “totally against ” a solar farm and would be greatly affected by any developing project.
“Solar farming has hit the Brock area with a vengeance. This county needs zoning. You’ve got to get going on it. We are disappointed and angry about solar farms in the Brock area. Companies can come in and do what they want. Many have done research on solar farms. Our questions were not answered or cannot be answered until the project is going. Our farm has been in Dave’s family many years. It is a huge living nightmare,” Piper continued.
