When the going gets tough for the Auburn football team, Coach Tony Janssen has a large group of experienced seniors to rely on. After Lincoln Christian went up 8-0 in the second quarter after blocking a Bulldog punt, it was those seniors who delivered to hoist the Bulldogs to a 22-14 win on the road.
Senior Owen Rowell has been a steady presence up front for the Bulldogs at the center and defensive tackle positions. Rowell’s fumble recovery in the second quarter gave Auburn a second chance to match Lincoln Christian’s opening score from Crusader territory.
Another Senior, linebacker Lance Binder, would steal away two possessions from the Crusaders, including intercepting a pitch in mid-air late in the second quarter.
