The Auburn Bulldogs softball team defeated Falls City and Freeman to clinch the Eastern Central Nebraska Conference Tournament championship on Saturday, September 28 in Pickrell.
Auburn made quick work of Falls City in the opening round of the conference triangular, scoring nine runs in the first inning and three more in the second to drop the Tigers in less than three innings for an 12-0 shutout to start the day.
The Falcons were a much tougher opponent for the Bulldogs in the conference championship. Freeman went ahead 2-1 in the first inning and held their lead until Auburn tied the game in the bottom of the seventh inning on an Addie Darnell solo home run to send the game into extra innings.
