WATER EMERGENCY
Water levels in Southeast Nebraska are at the lowest they have been since 2001. Eligibility for federal funds in the event of a dire situation is contingent on protocol established through drought management plans established with the State of Nebraska. 2024 rainfall stands at 23.61” for the year. Out of ten active wells, seven have fallen below five feet at the top of well screens. This is a dire situation. Should the wells fail, potable water will be pumped in from outside resources.
