The Bulldogs had a chance to clinch the C1-1 district championship with a win over Syracuse on Friday, October 18. With 4:35 left in the third quarter, Syracuse scored on an 87-yard touchdown run to go ahead of Auburn 14-7.
The Rockets scored their touchdowns on a pair of big plays- their first score a 43-yard passing touchdown- while the Bulldogs moved slowly down field in comparison.
Quarterback Nixon Ligouri set his offense up at midfield with a big kick return following the go-ahead score by the Rockets. Six plays later, the senior drug two Rocket tacklers into the endzone for an 11-yard rushing touchdown to tie the game at 14 apiece after a Camron Becker point-after kick.
