Acquisition and installation of a couple of items were allowed by the Auburn Board of Public Works (BPW) Wednesday, Oct. 16.
One was a $9,867.15 annual cost from Hydro Optimization and Automation Solutions of Lincoln. It covers cyber protection security of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) water and wastewater programs. Rich Wilson dissented, having an issue with spending the amount each year.
With increasing threat of cyberattacks on critical infrastructure, it has been recommended advanced cybersecurity measures be implemented in SCADA systems to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches and system disruptions.
