Tyler Koeneke, tuba player in the Auburn High School band, has been named to the Nebraska Music Educators Association (NMEA) 2024 All-State Band.
Koeneke is among 151 student-instrumentalists chosen for the ensemble through auditions. The band will rehearse Wednesday through Friday, Nov. 20 through 22 on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus during the NMEA Conference/ In-Service Clinic. The final concert is scheduled Friday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. Tickets can be ordered by contacting the Lied Center box office at 402-472-4747.
The band’s repertoire will consist of In Living Color, Albanian Dance, Stillwater and El Camino Real. It will be conducted by Dr. T. Andre Feagin, director of bands at Central Washington University. Feagin has served as a guest conductor with numerous All-State and honor bands and professional musical ensembles nationally and internationally.
