On Sunday, November 10 and Wednesday, November 13 at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively, the Auburn State Theater will be showing all seven episodes of the new “People Worth Caring About” docuseries. The films were produced by Peter Murphy Lewis and Golden Gen Movement, and “showcase the variety of career opportunities and rewards of working in Nebraska’s nursing homes and assisted living communities.”
Good Samaritan in Auburn was toured and documented by the filmmakers and is featured in the series’ third episode. In it, the nursing home’s administrator Cassie Greene explains the importance of the facility, as well as with engaging with the community and the students within it. Resident services coordinator Maria Hudson is also featured in the episode, along with a group of Auburn High School FFA students who planted succulents with the residents.
Each episode is arond 15 minutes long and each spotlight a different nursing home or elderly care center in Nebraska. Each of the facilities has its own message to share about the importance of senior living centers in communities, and producer Peter hopes to shine light on the essential members of the community.
