The odds were against the Lady Eagle volleyball team entering the 2024 NSAA Class C2 State Volleyball tournament. Johnson-Brock was the #7 seed in the eight-team tournament and faced #2 Oakland-Craig, who had just beaten them in straight sets a week prior.
With a crowd of supporters behind them, the Lady Eagles pulled off the biggest upset in the bracket, eliminating Oakland-Craig in five sets on Thursday, November 7 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Johnson-Brock fell the next day to #3 Thayer Central in straight sets, but bounced back to sweep #4 Norfolk Catholic in the third place game to bring home bronze medals and a third place trophy.
