With the last of the Thanksgiving leftovers finding bellies or trash cans, and the temperatures dropping, it’s time to break out the strings of lights, the inflatable Santas, the reindeer, candy canes, evergreen trees and gingerbread people! And if you think you have the most spectacularly cheerful holiday decorations around, then make a point to register your home for the Nemaha County Herald’s annual Deck the House Holiday Lights Contest!
Registration is a piece of fruit-cake! Simply e-mail a photo of your home including your name, address and telephone number to ‘[email protected]’ for your chance to win. If you have a neighbor who dazzles the neighborhood, you could enter their house instead! Entries can also be submitted in person at the Nemaha County Herald office, located at 830 Central Ave., Auburn, NE.
Entries must be submitted by midnight on Monday, December 23 to have a chance to win. First place will receive $300 in Auburn Chamber Bucks, and Second and Third place will receive $200 and $100 in Auburn Chamber Bucks, respectively. The Deck the House Holiday Lights Contest is open to all Nemaha County Residents!
