SANDRA J. (COULTER) KITE
1937 - 2025
On November 16, 1962, Sandra was united in marriage to Milton Kite in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. The couple made their home near Auburn, and would be blessed with six children: Paula, Jim, Virginia, Robert, Allen, and Todd.
Sandra farmed and raised cattle alongside husband, Milt. She worked many years at Darlings Café in Auburn and also was in charge of the Yankee Hill Dining Room at the Legion Club, drove a school bus, and dealt cards at Harrah’s Casino in Council Bluffs.
Sandra was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Auburn. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary. Sandra enjoyed camping and fishing and collecting things.
When her health no longer allowed her to stay at home, Sandra moved to the Good Samaritan Society-Auburn, it was there that she passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025, having reached the age of 87 years, 3 months, and 5 days. Besides her husband, Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, children Paula, Jim, Todd, and great-great-grandchild
Ryligion.
Those left to mourn her passing include her daughter Virginia (Mike) Vinson of Auburn, sons Robert Kite (Deb Whitaker) of Valley, Allen Kite (Teresa Darling) of Auburn; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Bette (Coulter) Cummings of Omaha, Donna (Coulter) Jeanneret of Auburn; brothers William Coulter of Auburn, Dean (Cathy) Coulter of Auburn; other relatives and friends.
A private family graveside and committal service was held in Kite Cemetery near Auburn.
Services were entrusted to Hemmingsen Funeral Home of Auburn.
