CHARLOTTE R. STELLING

CHARLOTTE R. STELLING

1937 - 2024

Our dear mother, Charlotte Ruth (Eickmann) Stelling passed away on May 19, 2024. She was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother who was always there when we needed her, offering support, wisdom, and an abundance of faith and love. Her beauty on the inside and out along with her loving, generous nature will be missed more than words can say.

Charlotte was born in St. Louis, MO on May 27, 1937. Married June 14,1959 to Charles Stelling in Leavenworth, Texas. Died at 86 years old, May 19, 2024 in Omaha, NE surrounded by family.

Charlotte grew up in St. Louis, MO (K - 8th grade) then attended Concordia High School and College, Seward, NE (9th - college graduation) where she met the love of her life, Charles.

Charlotte and Charles raised 5 children beginning in St. Paul, MN, later in Altona, NE, and Wakefield, NE. They moved to Auburn, NE in 1989.

Charlotte worked as a teacher in Hutchison, KS; a secretary at Waldbaums in Wakefield, NE; a secretary at UNL’s Northeast Nebraska Extension Station in Dixon, NE; then as parts inventory manager at Cooper Nuclear Power Plant in Brownville, NE. But her most important roles were wife, mother of 5 and grandmother of 9.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband Charles Stelling, infant daughter Carmen Stelling, her parents Albert and Norma (Bultmann) Eickmann, her in-laws Carl and Frieda (Malchow) Stelling.

Charlotte is survived by two sons; David Stelling, Auburn, NE; Jonathan (Renae) Stelling, Lincoln, NE; three daughters; Karla (Mark) Schlimgen, Chippewa Falls, WI; Suzanne (John) Chenoweth, Whitewater, WI; and Theresa (Jason) Gosnell, Omaha, NE; her nine grandchildren Ashley (Donnie), Faith (Greyson), Tara (fiancé Kyle), Erika, Evan, Wyatt (fiancé Erika), Eli, Dalton, and Colin; her two brothers Nathan (Marlene) Eickmann, Castle Rock, CO, Paul (Anne) Eickmann, Shaker Heights, OH; brother- in-law John (Katie) Stelling, Austin, TX; sister-in-law Gretchen (Arvin) Stelling, Hyde Park, UT; and many nieces and nephews (all over the country).

Mom had a deep faith and loved to share it with people through her actions and compassion. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir and other activities such as gardening, sewing, baking, daily puzzles, reading, following the St. Louis Cardinals and Nebraska sports (especially UNL volleyball), and spending time with family and friends. She was very involved with 4-H and sheep farming when they lived in Wakefield, NE.

A special thanks to Magnolia Trails/ Crowne Pointe and Sheri Rinaldi for helping mom these last few years.

She will be missed dearly, but was blessed to spend nearly 87 good years on the earth. Now she will be joining her parents, husband and infant daughter in heaven.
