ALAN L. SHUBERT

1949-2024

Alan L. Shubert was born on February 18, 1949 in Humboldt, Nebraska to parents Claude W. and Freda T. (Stephens) Shubert.

Alan was raised in Shubert and following his schooling he worked at the lumber yard with his father and then worked for local farmers in the area, including; Keithley, Baker, Andrews, Ahern and Schlosser Farms. He married Bobbi Jo Brown on April 1, 1972 at Shubert. He retired in 2018 after 34 years, working for Schlosser Farms. He was a member of the Shubert Christian Church, Shubert American Legion and a member of the Shubert Fire Department for most of his adult life.

Alan was drafted into the U. S. Army on March 26, 1969 at Ft. Lewis, WA. He served in Vietnam, earning a Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, a National Defense Service Medal, an Army Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, a Compat Infantryman Badge, A Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Sharpshooter Ribbon. He was honorably discharged March 25, 1971 Ft. Hood, TX.

Alan died in Shubert on July 25, 2024. Survivors include his wife, Bobbi Jo Shubert of Shubert, daughter Abby Shubert and her friend Nick Fischer of Falls City, daughter- in-law Nicole Shubert of Shubert, brother Larry (Kari) Shubert of Falls City, grandchildren Chelsi, Emma and Ben Shubert and Adisen Fischer, as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Scott.

His funeral was held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Shubert Christian Church with Pastor Dennis Fullbright officiating. Interment was in Prairie Union Cemetery with military graveside honors by Shubert American Legion. The family will recieved friends On Tuesday from at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
