DOROTHY JANE (BALDWIN) AUFENKAMP
Dorothy Jane (Baldwin) Aufenkamp, born February 4, 1928 went home to be with the Lord and family on July 23, 2024 at Good Samaritan Society in Auburn. Dorothy Baldwin was born February 4, 1928 in Pacific Junction, IA to Edgar and Esta Mae (Grant) Baldwin. Dorothy met her future husband, Kenneth Aufenkamp while her parents were pastors of the Methodist Church in Julian. They were married on August 31, 1947 in Inman, NE. The couple lived in Julian for a brief time, before moving to the Aufenkamp’s home farm just west of Julian. She remained on the farm until she moved into the Good Samaritan nursing home in Auburn in 2021. Dorothy attended Peru State College and taught at a rural school near Julian for two years. She also worked with her husband at their Livestock Sale Barn in Nebraska City and in later years helped as a home caregiver. Survivors include her children, Leroy (Beverly) Aufenkamp of Drayton, ND, Malitta (Ron) Lint of Glenwood, IA, and Tammy (Mark) Cronauer of Clark, SD: thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; brother, Donald Baldwin and sister, Ruby Hovarter; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Dennis Dean; sisters, Betty Bowman, Maxine Gradin, and Jean James; two great grandchildren, Enoch Culver and Silas Aufenkamp.
Memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Calvary Christian Center AG in Auburn. Burial will follow at Camp Creek Cemetery near Nebraska City.
