Beverly grew up in Daykin, Nebraska on the Houser Family farm graduating from High School and attending Peru State College. She graduated in May 1952 with a BA in Business and a minor in English. Beverly met her husband of 67 years, Charles Coatney, and they married on March 8, 1952. Since Chuck was an arial photographer in the Navy he was stationed at several locations were Beverly followed and worked different business jobs. Her favorite was in Norman, Oklahoma at the University.

They returned home in 1956 to the Coatney Family farm to start a family and Beverly worked at the business office at Peru State College. Later she would get a teaching job at Lourdes Catholic High School in Nebraska City. She was an active member of Easter Star, twice worthy matron, Rural Life Club, MMM Club, P.E.O., a devout Methodist and later in life worked at the Auburn Wellness Center.

The family has requested not to have a viewing or funeral but instead will have a private ceremony spreading Beverly’s ashes with her husband ashes on the family farm.
