MARGARET L. JONES 1935-2024

She graduated from Auburn High School in 1952. On June 6, 1953, she was married to Clarence Yates, Sr., and they had six children. They lived in Humboldt, Nebraska for many years. When Margaret first moved to Humboldt, Nebraska, she worked for J.M. McDonald’s store and did the books for O.A. Cooper Gas Station. She became a school bus driver in the Humboldt area, volunteered as an EMT, babysat, and owned her own Ceramic shop. She was also a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.

Margaret married Loy Jones, May 10, 1980. After living in several different states due to work, they settled in Beatrice Nebraska for their retirement. In September of 2020, her health started to decline, and she moved to Prestige Care Center in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Loy, daughter Debra, son Alan, brother Caral Baker, sister Mary Helen Eickhoff, son-in-law Steve “Cash” Herron, granddaughter Michelle (Storant) Michener, grandson Reno Herron, Great Grandson “TJ” Michener, and niece Jackie (Baker) Williams.

Margaret is survived by her children Clarence (Lisa) Yates, Jr. of Omaha, NE, Nancy (Robert) Storant of Lincoln, NE, Carol Herron of Rock Port, MO, Susan (Jerry) Smith of Faucett, MO, brother- in-law Ray Eickhoff of Falls City, NE, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A private family interment will be held at a later date.
