Lauralee E. (Bexten) Bucher, 84, of Auburn, Nebraska was born on September 7, 1940, in Omaha, Nebraska to Louis and Edna (Christensen) Bexten and was the youngest of two daughters born to this union. Lauralee lived in Humboldt with her family during her sophomore year where she met Gary Bucher and who she married on August 24, 1958. Gary and Lauralee were married 63 years and were amazing parents of two children Steve and Lisa. They lived on the family farm outside of Humboldt until retiring to Auburn, Nebraska in the early 2000’s.

Lauralee aside from being a homemaker and farmers wife also worked outside the home. She began her career as a Nurse’s Aide at the Humboldt Hospital, then became a Surgical Technician, and later developed and ran the purchasing department for the hospital. After leaving the hospital, Lauralee started as a receptionist for SENCA to become the Deputy Director and then Director of the HeadStart Program for Southeast Nebraska. She was an amazing woman, wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend.

Lauralee passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at her home in Auburn, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of eighty-four years, three months, and twenty-two days. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Gary A. Bucher.

Lauralee is survived by her sister Lois (Bexten) Haworth of Auburn, NE; sister-in-law Sherryn (Bucher) Rist of Humboldt, NE; son Steven P. Bucher and wife Teresa of Humboldt, his children Rochale and Logan, daughter Lisa Bucher of Auburn, her son Jarrod Coiner of Lincoln, NE; niece JerriLynn Page of Auburn, NE; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends of which there are too many to name but were all very much loved.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the Humboldt Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Peterson officiating.
