LEROY “LEE” D. ANDERSON

1953 - 2025

LeRoy “Lee” Dean Anderson, 71, of rural Humboldt, Nebraska was born on May 30, 1953, in Ogallala, Nebraska to George and Daisy (Dunlap) Anderson. He was raised with his family near Humboldt and attended Southeast Consolidated Schools in Stella. On March 27, 1976, Lee was united in marriage to Lauretta Vinson in Nemaha, Nebraska. The couple made their home on a farm near Humboldt, Nebraska where they raised their family. Lee was a talented mechanic that worked for Striggow’s Southside Body Shop and Buster Brinks in Auburn. He enjoyed guns, hunting, fishing, and car racing. Lee loved when family would make his favorite “Monster Cookies”, but really enjoyed hiding them from everyone else.

Lee passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at his home near Humboldt, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of seventy-one years, nine months, and six days. He was preceded in death by his wife Laurie; son Shawn Patrick Michael Anderson, his father George Anderson, brothers Jesse and Randy Anderson, and his sister Patty Stutheit.

Lee is survived by his children: Travis Swanson and wife Lois of Ogallala, NE; and their children Joshua and Elizabeth, James Corp and wife Shelly of Alta Vista, KS; and their children James “Andrew”, Shantel and Koby, Shawn’s children Alayna, Erynn, and Wyatt Anderson; Jennifer Anderson of Humboldt, NE; and her children Jordan Anderson, Rebecca Anderson, and Austin Vaughn, 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; his mother Daisy Anderson of rural Humboldt, NE; brothers: George Anderson Jr. and wife Ashley of Atlantic, IA; Charles Anderson and wife Michelle of Dawson, NE; his sister Shirley Anderson-Salber of Adams, NE; brothers-in-law: Michael Vinson and wife Virginia of Auburn, NE; Merv Stutheit of Dawson, NE; sister-in-law Kathleen Mensing of Springfield, MO; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.
